Today we are doing one of my all time favorite meal prep recipes. 15 minutes, five ingredients. Chicken sausage pasta bowls.
So as most of you guys know, I hate to cook. I hate being in the kitchen. I’m horrible at it. I’m the type of mom that burns frozen pizza but I am all about really quick, fast, easy recipes with little ingredients and little time.
So today that’s what we’re gonna be talking about. Olive oil, chicken sausage links, pasta, frozen veggies and pasta sauce. So I really quickly wanted to mention, usually for this recipe I use precooked sausage, chicken sausage but today we’re using uncooked which is totally still fine.
So we’re over here right now on my stove getting everything cooked for the meal prep lunches. So we currently have frozen veggies going in the water cooking right now.
We do have also the chicken sausage. Now, like I mentioned, I usually do the precooked chicken sausage but they didn’t have any at the store. So this is in one cup of water on medium heat for about eight minutes.
Once that water starts boiling, you just wanna cover it with the lid and make sure that gets fully cooked and then also we have water boiling right now to do our pasta noodles.

So right now we’re going to go ahead and I have the chicken sausage fully cooked, I’m just going to slice them and get them ready for the individual bowls. Now, if you want to do more than I would say five lunches, I would recommend doing more than four sausage links.
All right, so we just finished cooking and getting all of the ingredients prepped for each bowl. I wanna quickly mention, I don’t know if you guys know, after a while or if you’ve noticed, after a while your noodles can get sticky.
I like to add just a tad bit of olive oil to my noodles, mix that in really, really well and it keeps it from that sticky starch. All right, so once you have that mixed into your noodles really well, we’re gonna start assembling each bowl.
Okay, so for each bowl, what you wanna do is you wanna add a little bit of noodles and you can portion out each bowl whatever ingredient you like most. I like the pasta noodles. Carbs. Gotta have your carbs. A little bit of I add a tad bit of veggies and you can really customize these.
So I put the veggies in the middle like this and then I go ahead and I add my cooked sausage at the end. Now, if your husband is the type of person who’s a protein, a huge protein eater, you might wanna just double the recipe of the sausage to give them a little more meat for lunch but essentially, pasta, vegetable, meats.
For your pasta sauce, now I’m using Prego right now but you can use essentially any pasta sauce you have in your pantry and what I like to do is I literally just dump a little bit over the noodles and you have a chicken sausage pasta bowl.
So once every single bowl has been assembled and you have everything the way that you want it, you can actually store these in your fridge until you’re ready to eat them. They last about four to five days in the fridge. Possibly a little bit longer depending on the storage containers that you use. Pop ’em in the microwave for two minutes and you have a grab and go lunch.
